One of the First Guitar Pedals (DeArmond Rowe Tremolo Control)

The beginning of an age of 100's of guitar pedals that would change the sound of an amp from a pedal placed on the floor. An amp would never be the same.

This pedal DeArmond Rowe Tremolo Control was manufactured and sold by Rowe Industries, a wire and electronics maker located in Toledo, Ohio around the mid 1940's.

Inside this device is a small electrical motor. It actually has a liquid that get shook around. It causes a slight vibration that gives it a unique sound.

Bo Diddley was one of the first to use the pedal. You can hear it below. Strange stuff.

Imagine that being the high tech of the day. lol

The industry thus kept moving forward and now look at all the pedals made today. The list I have below is just a small list of the pedals offered these days. Under each type of pedals there are 100's of makers.

I myself make 3 guitar pedals. My pedals are Trachouse Pedals click here to check them out.
